Short answer: Personal-Loan.com is a free referral service for people in the United States who want a personal loan of $100 to $35,000. You fill in one short form and we pass your request to lenders in our network, who may make you an offer. We are not a lender and we don’t make credit decisions.
What does Personal-Loan.com do?
We connect borrowers with lenders. The request form on our loan request page asks for the amount you want, what the loan is for and some basic details about you. We send that request to lenders in our network. A lender that can work with you may contact you with an offer, and you decide whether to accept it.
We also publish free guides that explain how personal loans work, what lenders look for, what the law allows in each state and what a loan really costs. You can read them without filling in any form.
Is Personal-Loan.com a lender?
No. We don’t fund loans, set rates or fees, or decide who is approved. Each lender sets its own APR, fees and terms, based on your credit, your income and the law in your state. Approval is never guaranteed, and the service isn’t available in every state.
How does Personal-Loan.com make money?
Using Personal-Loan.com is free. Lenders in our network may pay us when you submit a request. You never pay us a fee. If anyone asks you to pay up front to get a loan through us, it isn’t us: the FTC warns that it’s illegal for telemarketers to promise you a loan and ask you to pay for it first.
How do we write our guides?
We write our guides for borrowers and base them on primary sources such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Federal Reserve, the Federal Trade Commission, federal regulations and state law, and we check every figure before a page goes live. Our editorial policy explains how we research, check and update each page.
How can you contact us?
Personal-Loan.com is based in Chicago, Illinois. You can reach us through our contact page. To learn how we handle the information you send us, read our privacy policy.
